This green cloth beret has the cap badge of 8th Battalion DLI mounted on the felt cloth diamond of the 6th Battalion. In 1967, following a national Defence Review, the last two DLI Territorial Battalions were combined to form the 6th/8th Battalion DLI, which became part of the Light Infantry's Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve. In Memoriam Printed Card for the Loss of the British Airship R101 - includes Roll of Honour
The R101 airship crashed in France during its maiden overseas voyage on 5 October 1930, killing 48 of the 54 people on board. Curiously, the memoriam card states only 47 killed, including crew and passengers. The killed included Lord Thomson, Air Minister and Sir Sefton Brancker, Air Vice Marshal of the RAF. In very condition. Padded centre with the shield and cannons in bullion wire which was worn by officers of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps attached to the War Office. Davis describes as 'very rare'.

Royal Northumberland Fusiliers RNF Anodised Aluminium AA Staybrite Cap Badge - Gaunt London
A coloured anodised aluminium staybrite version replaced the bi-metal version in 1952 and was worn until 1959. With original slider which is maker marked JR Gaunt London. Circa 44mm tall and 26mm wide across the flames. In superb condition.
