Brentwood address to reverse, EDVII stamp with Romford Essex cancellation, dated 26th June 1902. Repeats offical messages from Kitchener, Buckingham Palace and the House of Lords on the news of Boer surrender at end of May 1902.

Removed from uniform, a bit grubby from wear but otherwise in good condition.

Raised in Sunderland, County Durham as a key part of the the 2nd and then 7th Anti-Aircraft Divisions. 1st pattern. A few good condition.

Boer War Royal Northern or Royal Home Counties Reserve Regiment Pouch Badge

A brass metal pouch badge to this war raised unit (the Northern and Home Counties both used the same pattern badge), was intended to enable regular army reservist to volunteer for one year as a second line for UK service with so many regular troops deployed to South Africa.
