WW2 Royal Artillery Other Ranks Brass Cap / Collar Badge mounted on RA Felt Badge Backing
On the SD cap Other Ranks had worn the service dress cap badge (i.e. the large Gun) until ACI 1179 of 1941 authorised the wearing of a gilt grenade (as also worn on the collar when not in battledress). Mounted on RA felt cloth badge backing with cotter pin. The correct seven flames on the RA grenade. Circa 4cms tall excluding backing felt.

WW2 Royal Artillery Plastic Economy Cap Badge mounted on RA Felt Badge Backing
Complete with its original blades, maker marked 'A Stanley & Sons, Walsall'. In very good condition with no distortion and no crazing of the cellulose acetate plastic. Sometimes incorrectly described as Bakelite. Mounted on Royal Artillery coloured felt. As worn from 1942 as a cap badge (seven fames to the grenade as per the RA issue).
