Print size circa 27.3cm (10 3/4 inches) tall by 20.5cm (8 1/6 inches) wide. Mount size circa 35.5cm by27cm (14 by 10.5 inches). Some light foxing to reverse of print otherwise front and mount in very good condition.

The R101 airship crashed in France during its maiden overseas voyage on 5 October 1930, killing 48 of the 54 people on board. Curiously, the memoriam card states only 47 killed, including crew and passengers. The killed included Lord Thomson, Air Minister and Sir Sefton Brancker, Air Vice Marshal of the RAF. Circa 25mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker's details (if any) no longer visible but other examples have been noted made by J. Tyndale of Birmingham.
