Small button, now missing shank, metal dectecting find. Circa 15.5mm in diameter. Darkened from being in soil, but details still clear. Possibly other units would fit the bill, but certainly a yeomanry item from circa 1793 - 1820.

Taunton ( Somerset ) Volunteers Tunic Button, circa 1794 - 1802 ( Revolutionary / Napoleonic Wars)

Scarce, circa 22mm in diameter. Flat button with shank still in tact but fragile and with one crack. Excavated condition, but better than one usually finds. Some small splits, copper, would originally have been gilt washed. Worn circa 1794 - 1802. Early and scarce anodised aluminium button, gilt coloured, circa 26mm in diameter. Floating shank. Backmarked Buttons Limited, Birmingham. Slight wear to castle's highpoints, which looks worse in the photo. King's crown therefore most probably pre 1953. This pattern was only worn until 1959.
