Removed from uniform, some paper stuck to reverse otherwise a fine pair of silk embroidered formation signs. Formed part of the BEF. Landed in Normandy on D Day 6th June and fought across France, Belgium and Southern Holland.

A star of eight points, the topmost point displaced by a Victorian crown. On this a laurel wreath. Within the wreath a strap inscribed the garter motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense. A genuine example with lugs removed (they were north - south) and expertly attached permanently to a brass menu ring stand which has an upright ring for holding the menu card / place setting name card. Royal Berkshire Regiment - Without 'R Berks' below the dragon indicating a 1902-1920 issue mounted on a red/ maroon cord boss with two retaining wires still present.
