As worn from 1878 - 1901, an original other ranks helmet plate with two of two original staple style loops to the reverse. Some tips of the longer rays bent over and traces of dry polish otherwise in very good condition. Some flex in it as you find with the original versions (for shaping to curve of helmet).

In very good condition with original slider and sharp detail. This pattern was worn until 1971.

The French pattern eagle and scroll ' Waterloo ' below commemorate the capture of the eagle of the 45th Regiment of Infantry who were decimated by the charge of the Royal Scots Greys.
