Georgian / Napoleonic Andover Loyal Volunteers (Hampshire) Gilt Tunic Coatee Button
Circa 20mm in diameter, fixed shank, open-backed convex button, with a Georgian crown to centre and Andover Loyal Volunteers surrounding, milled edge. Maker marked Mills & Co, London. Gilt mainly back to vase copper alloy to front but in very good condition for age. This pattern was worn in the second incarnation of the Volunteer movement from 1803 - 1808.

Circa 18mm in diameter, silver plated, fixed shank (slightly bent over), blank reverse, small ding to right of crown. Otherwise in good worn condition and rare. Worn until 1808 when they were absorbed in to the Local Militia.

Embroidered Cloth Proficiency Diamond Efficiency Badge as worn by Volunteer Rifle Corps / Volunteer Battalions, 1879 - 1909
Introduced in 1879 and withdrawn from wear in 1909 (I can confirm this for definite as I have a sealed pattern of this item in my own collection and it has been annotated as such).
