Colonial East Africa - Tanganyika Territory Large Pattern Gilt Button
Attractive design, featuring a giraffe. Circa 26mm in diameter, fixed shank and maker marked Firmin, London. Slight service wear to gilt finish otherwise in very good condition and gilt still bright. Circa 1920s - 1930s Vintage. Scarce.

Miniature versions of the glengarry badge, this unit wore collar badges of a small size from 1904 until 1908 only. Die struck in white metal with two original loops to the reverse (some service wear to these). Not an exact match but display reasonably well together. Circa 26mm tall. Rare.

Victorian 2nd Royal Lanark Militia Officers Badge
A scarce white metal officers badge, nicely domed. The Lanark Militia were originally formed in Napoleonic times. This badge stems from around the Crimean War. The 2nd were formed in 1854. They were later amalgamated into the 4th Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). 5th Battalion (Caithness and Sutherland) Seaforth Highlanders NCOs Silver Plated Glengarry Cap Badge
Nicely cast badge in silver or silver plate which I understand were worn by NCOs. Two lugs to reverse, which show signs of having been silivered. Initials 'T.S." scratched to reverse and mounted on a genuine Black Watch / Government square of Tartan cloth (The 5th Seaforths wore kilts of Government tartan box-pleated identical to those of the A&SH).

Border Rifle Volunteers Edwardian Officers Pouch Belt Plate
A fine die-stamped blackened post 1901 example, with burnished silver highlights. Crowned star mounted with circlet inscribed “BORDER RIFLE VOLUNTEERS”; to the centre, the crowned heart with scroll above inscribed “DOE OR DIE”. Two screw posts to reverse but missing its securing nuts. Rare as worn only from 1902 - 1908. A touch of verdigris to reverse otherwise simply gorgeous.
