Both medal rims correctly impressed:

On lengths of original ribbons. Some wear to these and damage to the VM ribbon. Medals in GVF condition with an edge bruise to the VM.

An attractive die cast badge, maker marked M. &.K. Ltd, WGTN, N.Z. (stands for which stands for the jewellers Mayer and Kane Ltd, Wellington, New Zealand). A Kiwi within a circle inscribed 'New Zealand Regiment'. enclosed by fern leaves and surmounted by a crown. Two original cooper loops. Circa 4.3cm tall and 4cm wide. A die cast pair of trumpets, with two original loops, thick brass backing plate and cotter pin. Usually found in brass or gliding metal but these have been nickel plated to give a white metal finish. Mid Victorian 1st Fifeshire Mounted Rifle Volunteer Corps (FMRV) Other Ranks Large Pattern White Metal Button

Circa 25.5mm in diameter, scalloped edge with the monogram FMRV, fixed shank and maker marke C& J Weldon, London. Looks to be of Other Ranks quality. In very good condition with sharp detail.

Formed in 1860, they were renamed as the 1st Fifeshire Light Horse Volunteer Corps in 1870. In 1908 became The Fifeshire & Forfarshire Yeomanry.
