A rare South of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry cap badge with two original loops to the reverse (east - west).
Good scarce die-stamped brass seeded shamrock bearing the letters SIY. Some wear to gilt finish and loops have been reshaped upwards but still fully functional and overall in lovely condition. Circa 26mm tall and 30.5mm wide.

As worn from 1881 until 1902, in good condition, some toning to silver plated finish. Matching benchmarks No "24" to each part. Gilt remains relatively fresh and silvered parts are still sharp with no missing fiddly bits. Britannia above a representation of Norwich castle to centre. A pleasing example.
