WW2 Victory Dinner Menu Card 1945 - Prisoners of War POW Ephemera

A scarce menu card from the Sergeants' Mess of 382 P.O.W. Camp, El Daba dated 20th August 1945. The Members of the mess are listed opposite a sumptuous meal menu. Probably members of the corps of Military Police. Circa 15cm x 12cm.

Top brass (RAF ) accompany American General Dwight D. ( Ike ) Eisenhower as he inspects a fine looking body of troops. Not sure which regiment. Post WW2 photo / postcard with blank reverse. In very good condition. Pre 1953. Later the 34th President of the USA.

It would be nigh impossible today to put together a collection as comprehensive as this. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Those on the squared grid card are glued down. Postally unused from the Bill Hopkins postcard collection. Close of up of Cap badges show these to be crowned Maltese crosses. Taken of despatch riders with the cycles and rifles under or "Bivvy". Taken at Crowborough in 1911. no doubt the annual territorial camp. Scarce image. Card in good condition.

In superb condition for age, postally unused, no foxing no damage or creases. Patriotic illustration originally published in the 'Daily Graphic' depicting surrender of Boer Forces at Pretoria on 31st May 1900. However, a costly guerrilla war was to continue for the next 18 months.
