WW1 Autograph Book - Property of a young girl 1916 onwards

WW1 Autograph Book - Property of a young girl 1916 onwards

The first entry reveals the blank autogaph book to have been a gift from her brother George, to his sister Elsie. Many of the entries appear to have been penned or drawn by people she met, mainly from the army, stationed at Whitburn in 1917. A regular contributor of some artistic merit was a CQMS N L Bennett of the 3rd York & Lancaster Regiment but other soldiers from the 3rd Durham Light In...  read more

WW1 Original Photograph - Formation SIgns indicating he served with the 16th (Service Battalion) Northumberland Fusiliers

WW1 Original Photograph - Formation SIgns indicating he served with the 16th (Service Battalion) Northumberland Fusiliers

Postally unused, UK postcard. Insignia would have been in red felt and reflects the badge worn by the 16th Service Battalion raised by the Newcastle and Gateshead Chamber of Commerce as the "Newcastle Commercials". The metal badge is just discernable and looks like the generic brass grenade above a separate 'NF' below but the image is not clear and has sharp as it could be. Card is in very g...  read more
