It is rare to find this medal to a woman, although I have heard it said that a number of women were used to 'man' the cross channel ferries. It is rarer still to find the medals together as pair.

Not sure which is harder to find, one of these cap badges or hen's teeth. In great original condition, some signs of wear. Circa 6.5cm tall and 4cm wide at crown. Full sized silver issue (circa 16,000 were struck). Unnamed as issued in box of issue (in damaged but repairable condition). The box is post-box red card with a lion atop of a King's crown in black and the words "Coronation Medal" above in capitals and below the date "1911".
