British India - Calcutta Fire Brigade Helmet Badge and Button

Not come across this pattern before, but have seen a Calcutta Police Badge of similar shape and design cast in white metal. Of two part cast construction with two long screw posts to revise of a presumably for fitting on to a brass fireman's helmet. it comes with a small button to the same unit, circa 16mm in diameter. Both in good condition and worn from 1901 until circa 1949.

A good original theatre made cast shoulder title of the Surma Valley Light Horse (AFI). In the form of a sand cast white metal 'S.V.L.H', in good condition, complete with original two integral loop fittings.

Trench Art Brass Letter Opener in form of a Gurkha Khiukuri - Plus instructional note to Gurkha soldiers on how to hand and care for the real thing!

Circa 125mm long, a letter opener in brass. Some sticky label marks otherwise in good condition. Accompanied by original handling and care instructions for Gurkha soldiers possessing the real thing.

British Indian Army - 6th King Edward's Own Cavalry Gold Bullion Embroidered Cloth Panel

Most probably intended for use as the bullion ornament for embellishing a review order officer's dress pouch. Similar in design to that depicted in Ashok Nath's "Sowars and Sepoys in the Great War 1914-1918 for the Governor General's Body Guard (Fig 2). unissued example, removed from display board, so a bit stiff with glue, traces of black felt to which it was stuck now mostly removed. A few stains to front but in reasonable condition and a rare item. Condition reflected in price.

Indian Army issue, officially impressed on rim, as follows:

WW2 Medal Group Major J. B. Taylor, 8th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army with MiD Certificate and Box of Issue

The medals (unnamed as issued) have been court mounted with new ribbons and the War Medal ribbon has a bronze oak leave for Mention in Despatches. The medals came together with an addressed empty box off issue (slip missing) to:
