Scottish Aberdeen University Officer Training Corps OTC Glengarry Cap Badge, 2nd Pattern

A large and impressively aggressive looking badge, thickly die struck in white metal with two original loops to the reverse. In very good condition. Pre anodised era. Would have been worn with Gordon tartan flash badge backing. Sealed 1951.

Assumed to be related to one of the various WW1 Veterans' Corps such as the Dublin Veterans' Corps, mentioned in K&K Vol 1 (Page 409). A small bass metal shoulder title with two original loops to the reverse. Any positive identification, most welcome.

Good scarce die-stamped blackened brass 1901-08 example. The letter ‘Q’ inscribed ‘R’ ‘S’; crowned ‘RVB’ to voided centre. Two original loops and red felt cloth badge backing. 1st Queen’s City of Edinburgh Rifle Volunteer Brigade redesignated Queen’s Rifle Volunteer Brigade in 1888.

Westmorland & Cumberland Yeomanry Other Ranks Gilding Metal Cap Badge

An original and attractive gilt washed brass cap badge with original slider to reverse. A good stiff badge, nicely domed with sharp detail and in very good condition. The design is three sprigs of heather within an oval band surrounded by laurel wreaths with a king 's crown above. This pattern discarded in the early 1920s when the unit adopted the Royal Artillery cap badge.

Northern Ireland Armagh Light Infantry Militia Victorian White Metal Glengarry Badge

A good die-stamped white metal crowned strung bugle. Totally original period piece worn circa 1874-81. In fabulous condition. Circa 6.5cms tall. Two original brass loops to the reverse.

Raised 1793 at Armagh, re-designated Light Infantry in 1855, became 3rd Bn. Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1881.

WW1 Indian Army - No 1 Dress Gilt Cap Badge and Shoulder Title for Indian Staff / Unattached Personnel

This pattern of cypher relating to George V and as worn 1911 - 1935, a large die cast gilt cap badge with two original lugs to reverse, UK made. Gilt bright. Circa 4.9cms tall. Fire gilt finish superb. Mounted on red felt backing for display. Together with a single "Staff" gilt shoulder title which is in equally good condition.

WW1 Silver War Badge (SWB) to Pte William Howard - An Old Contemptible, Durham Light Infantry (DLI) / Welsh Regiment / 18th Yorks - In original numbered box of issue

SWB officially impressed B255885 awarded to William Howard, who was entitled to a Mons Star Trio. Rare to find with original box of issue. Also a rare survivor who served all through the war until early 1919.

Removed from uniform, in very good condition. Printed RN rank and rate badges are less common than similar badges for the Army. White versions were worn on tropical dress (FS276 p30).

The Star with W in the centre was common to both RN and WRNS ratings (May p92).
