WW1 Three Gilt Brass Sew-On Wound Stripes Sewn to Panel of Khaki Uniform Cloth
Gilt finish still fresh. Each stripe has a double hole at each end to enable it to be sewn down. Circa 2 inches in length and authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922). WW1 Full Set of Embroidered Overseas Service Chevrons 1914 - 1918
A good clean set of 1 red (for 1914) and 4 blue chevrons on khaki backing representing five years service overseas, making the recipient an old contemptible who survived through to the end of the war. Removed from uniform, brighter to reverse as one would expect, but in very good condition for age and scarce.
