Post WW2 / Cold War Era Printed 4th Infantry Division Formation Sign Designation Flash

Removed from uniform, a printed example in good used condition, colours bright.

In April 1956 the 11th Armoured Division in BAOR was converted to an infantry role and to be a reincarnation of the WW2 4th Infantry Division and took on the sign previously used by this formation but with the red circle now on a black as opposed to a white ground.

Removed from uniform and now partially unfolded. In good condition with bright colours. Red Lancastrian Rose on white square with red border. Also worn post war by the TA.

A very pleasing example of officer quality with four press studs.

The formation badge for the 56th Division during the Second World War featured Dick Whittington's black cat on a red background.

Removed from uniform. A glue patch to the reverse otherwise in good condition. The sign depicts King Arthur's sword Excalibur, , which was not surprisingly mainly composed of battalions from West Country regiments.
