A two-part constructed cap star silver plated and gilt with green translucent enamel to centre and an original pin and C clasp fitting with safety clasp to the rear. Circa 5cms across. Worn on the Glengarry and Balmoral cap. Gilt now worn back to the brass, silver plate dark toned enamel intact and otherwise in good condition. An earlier example.

Removed from uniform, a bit grubby, three felt arms of service strips with a felt regimental flash black / amber (yellow) / black for the Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Regiment sewn to a rectangle of khaki battledress uniform material. Some slight moth graze to the amber (yellow) felt otherwise in good overall condition.

Two original small thin loops soldered to reverse of thin cut brass sheet joined via a central strip "RFC". Reminiscent of the slouch hat badges cut from sheet brass in the Boer War.
