Victorian 2nd Royal Lanark Militia Officers Badge
A scarce white metal officers badge, nicely domed. The Lanark Militia were originally formed in Napoleonic times. This badge stems from around the Crimean War. The 2nd were formed in 1854. They were later amalgamated into the 4th Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). The Seaforth Highlanders Officers Waist Belt Clasp (WBC) 1881 - 1957.
Silver plated devices mounted on a gilt rectangular plate. Minor wear and toning to silver plate and the odd spotting to gilt which remains bright. Design comprising a Royal Duke’s coronet ‘L’ a stag’s head and motto scroll. The loose ‘D’ end section not present, as is often the case. In good condition.
