Skill in Driving Steering Wheel Prize Proficiency Trade Arm Badge - Mechanised Units
Introduced in the early 1930s and abolished in 1950, this steering wheel brass badge was awarded to Mechanised Batteries of the Royal Artillery and from 1936 to Royal Engineer and Royal Signals also, at the rate of one prize per unit and were also worn in WW2 to signify driving instructors. M in Wreath in AA Anodised Aluminium - Mortarman Proficiency Arm Badge
Not encountered very often, in gold coloured anodised, with two original loops to the reverse. Circa 5.4 cm across and although with some minor service wear obvious to the finish in good condition. Introduced 1957 for qualified mortar layers and worn on lower left sleeve.

As worn by Telegraphist RE and Qualified Signallers. Die struck with blue and white enamel flags with four original lugs to the reverse. Enamel was used on earlier versions of this badge. In excellent condition with no damage to the enamel. Hard to find.
