A vertically worn, 2 part collar badge in silver plate and gilt, in good worn condition with some polishing from service wear and with two original loops to the reverse. Loops seem quite long so possibly also as worn on the forage cap.

Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry (DCLI) Other Ranks Victorian Brass Metal Cap Badge, 1896 - 1900 only
Die struck quality yellow brass cap badge with three original dark toned loops to the reverse. Some squeezing to loops and twisting but still functional. Sharp detail and scarce. Gaylor (p37) states this pattern worn prior to 1901, although the 1900 Dress Regulations for the British Army show the new white metal badge with the scroll "Cornwall". Ivall & Thomas confirm it was worn from 1896 to 1... read more

The Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment) (45th & 95th Foot) QVC Victorian Other Ranks Bi-Metal Cap Badge
Die struck example on original toned loops. As worn until 1902 when the badge was corrected to include Nottinghamshire. I have encountered other Victorian issues and the reverse detail was not sharp on these either but this is a genuine example.

The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) (42nd & 73rd Foot) - Victorian Issue Lacesset Spelling
A very pleasing die struck white metal badge with two original loops to the reverse (some service wera and bending to these). Victorian crown and sharp detail. This version with the motto spelling "Lacesset" as opposed to the alternative version found "Lacessit". As is the case with all Black Watch badges there appears to be an inability to settle on the correct spelling of this word in the mot... read more

The Royal Fusiliers Regiment (City of London Regiment) (7th Foot) - Victorian Issue Other Ranks Brass Cap Badge
An early Victorian Crown pattern which displaces some of the lettering on the strap. This shortcoming was improved on the later issue with the Imperial crown sitting atop of the strap and the lettering being fully visible. Some twisting to loops otherwise in very good condition.
