WW1 Original Coloured Art Postcard H.M.T. Dongola - Gallipoli connection
Postally unused, some wear to reverse and corner bumps, especially bottom right. P&O steamer taken up into Admiralty service as a troop ship. The Dongola was involved in evacuating the 29th Division and wounded from Sulva Bay Gallipoli on 25th April 1915, and served generally in support of the forces in the campaign thereafter.

WW1 Buckingham Palace Letter ( from Memorial Plaque ) and Envelope marked
'WW1 Memorial plaque accompanying printed letter' from Buckingham Palace, folded and worn, with envelope passed by sensor date November 1917, which is addressed to 6 Hudons Buildings, Hendon, Sunderland. I cannot make out the name of the lady to whom it is addressed. On the reverse it states "Last letter but one" - How sad. Searching on the address only I came up with:

Scarce WW1 Home Front item - Ration Book, partially used
It is easy to forget that rationing was also a major feature of live on the home front in WW1. The indiscriminate and relentless German U-Boat campaign against merchant shipping in 1917 almost brought this country to its knees.
This ration book was issued in 1918 to Annie Dent of Bellingham. There is some damage to it (coupons torn out) but coupon stamps remain for essential food... read more
