A scarce gilt and silver plated example on original loops. Exceptionally fine quality and delicate design, certainly not a mass produced item. Circa 3.6cms wide and 3.7cms tall. An other ranks die-cast in brass with two original lugs to the reverse. These were worn by the local HG villagers armed with shotguns etc, and the badge was worn on their everyday clothes.

Malay Regiment Fire Gilt Officers Cap Badge, adopted 1933
A stunning example, die cast on two original loops. Circa 40mm tall by 27mm wide. Slight twisting to loops and a few small marks to the gilt finish otherwise in excellent condition. Scarce.
This was a two battalion force which fought well in the doomed defence of Singapore. After Japan's defeat it was revived and by the time of Independence in 1957 was seven battalions strong.
