It was formed for service in the Burma Campaign of World War II from units of the British Army and the British Indian Army. 2nd Pattern Rectangular, circa 5.2cm by 4cm. Removed from uniform but in very good condition. The red bells on a black background. Finely woven in silk.

44th Division Woven Cloth Formation Sign Flash Designation
A yellow trident on a yellow edged red oval. Colours bright and in unissued condition, one small pull to yellow thread. Woven examples like this were private purchase from late 1955 onwards.
