Worn in facing pairs, this one with the ship facing to the right. Removed from uniform, a bit grubby and stained with evidence of having some rust marks from a drawing pin at some point and a couple of small pinprick holes. This badge was made by “Calico Printers”. Annotated with a number to the reverse. Condition reflected in price. Scarce.

Removed from uniform, a scruffy theatre made example, facing left, with some damage to the background material behind the plume which has been torn. Certainly in been there and done that condition! Damage reflected in price but a rare badge.

WW2 Maritime Ant-Aircraft Artillery, 2nd pattern cloth formation sign
Dark blue rectangle embroidered with a white R A; red fouled anchor between the letters. The white elements to front now look yellow (from age /nicotine).
Introduced in 1942, this formation sign was worn by the Royal Artillery gun crews that were deployed in harbours and also on Defensively Equipped Merchant Navy Ships (DEMS) to provide protection.
