A rare survivor - a cardboard circular badge by Mogridge, Bristol. Original pin back fitting. Minor wear to front. Featured in the recent publication CAMPAIGN 1914: Volume I : Uniforms & Equipment of the British Serviceman in the First World War by Chris Pollendine (2013) . Quite large at circa 3.8cm in diameter.

Small, but attractive gilt and enamel Winston's Bobbies supporters Pin Badge Brooch, back-marked - J.R.Gaunt, London. Circa 2.5cm tall.

It depicts Saint George and the Dragon above a central device with conjoined letters "VCF" inlaid with blue and white enamel within a laurel wreath with the words "Law and Order" below.

Well it certainly has lived up to its claim, after all these years! It is in lovely bright gilt condition. This is exactly 2 inches in length and was authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922).
