French Fireman's ( ?) Period Large Pewter Button of French manufacture - AM & Co, Paris
Unidentified pewter button, but possibly standing for Pompiers Local Municipale ( PLM ), a local volunteer fireman. Circa 21mm in diameter, made from pewter and with original integral shank to the reverse. Maker marked , AM & Cie (AM & Co) - Paris. Poor condition with some nibbles to the rope boarder. Small, but attractive gilt and enamel Winston's Bobbies supporters Pin Badge Brooch, back-marked - J.R.Gaunt, London. Circa 2.5cm tall.
It depicts Saint George and the Dragon above a central device with conjoined letters "VCF" inlaid with blue and white enamel within a laurel wreath with the words "Law and Order" below.

Artist impression Postcard, depicting the Royal Navy Mediterranean Fleet in a gale sailing from Corfu to Malta December 1911.
Postally used, cancelled in Valletta, Malta, but unfortunately stamp removed. Message on reverse is dated April 1912 from a sailor, Fred Smith to his sister. He was seving in HMS Triumph which is one of the shipes featured on the front of the card. Unusual card and Fred undoubtedly saw First War service.
