A large and impressive badge nicely cast with flat back and with a stout pin fitting and c clasp, possibly a low grade of silver. The quality, whilst good overall, does suggest theatre made, possibly in India. Some polishing to the antelope otherwise the detail is good. A die struck two part construction cap badge with original slider, bent outwards; possibly for wear in the pagri of the sun helmet. In good condition with sharp detail, badge has possibly been lacquered. Worn 1903 - 1921.

Royal Malta Artillery Collar Badge (also worn in WW2 by the Malta Home Guard as a cap badge). An ornate Maltese cross with two copper loops to the reverse. Circa 3.6cms across.

Victorian White Metal British Volunteer Artillery Forage Cap Badge - Smaller Pattern
As worn on the pill box or peaked cap by many Volunteer Artillery Other Ranks across the Kingdom, a white metal grenade with seven flames with two original toned loops to the reverse. Circa 4.1cms tall. Lovely item. Circa 1860 - 1902. One sees the larger ten and fourteen flame versions much more often. There is also a Grenadier Guards style pattern with 17 flames but in white metal.
