A scarce and superb Derbyshire Yeomanry gilt brass and enamel OCA lapel badge with original horseshoe fitting, maker marked W&H (Walker and Hall?) to the reverse. Most likely worn by a veteran of WW1 or WW2 where the Regiment provided two Reconnaissance Battalions. Touch of verdigris to reverse otherwise in very good condition with no damage to enamel. UK made both marked sterling with two of two original silver loops to the reverse of each. Facing and matching, depicting and Indian Elephant over pioneer crossed spade and pick axe. Gorgeous pair and scarce (trace of bluetack to reverse of one shaft, now removed). Circa 25mm tall.

In unissued condition still with its paper backing intact. If memory serves me various Lancashire Home Guard units wore different coloured thread lettering to distinguish the various companies. Happy to be corrected. The generic pattern was white on khaki. Scarce.

WW1 New Zealand (NZ) Third Pattern Machine Gunners / Signallers / Specialists Reinforcements Brass Gilding Metal Cap Badge

A yellow gilt brass metal die struck cap badge with two flat connector style loops to the reverse. Circa 5cms tall. Not as well struck as it could have been and silver solder to lugs (possibly contemporary replacements as this is usually found with flat hexagonal lugs). RD no 875 to front on either side of the NZ. Worn with correspondingly small collar badges.

WW2 Kings Shropshire Light Infantry (KSLI) Embroidered Yellow on Green 'Shaped' Felt Cloth Shoulder Title

This shape (acute angles to each edge) was an unofficial title and worn in WW2 by the 1st Battalion KSLI during the Italian campaign, 1943 - 1945. In very good condition with some traces of glue and paper stuck to the reverse. Scarce.
