The second pattern all white metal die struck arm badge as noted in Pate 17.6 (B) of Linaker and Dine, and worn circa 1914 - 1928, after which time the horse of the 5th Dragoon Guards was adopted as the NCO's arm badge. A scarce brass shoulder title with two original loops to the reverse. In very good condition. introduced in 1920, but then the regiment was amalgamated in 1922 with the 5th Dragoon Guards and wore a new pattern shoulder title from 1926 onwards. Scarce.

WW1 Bombardment of the Hartlepools 6th December 1914 Damage to Moor Terrace plus trench manned by the Royal Engineers

Postally unused with minor corner wear. Evidence of having been removed from an album. Contemporary hand to the reverse identifies the largest house in the image as being called Greencliffe, which was occupied by army officer's and the sandbag wall below was a trench manned by the Royal Engineers. Legitimate military targets after all it would appear!

WW1 Xmas card (blank reverse), Finish Johnny ( Turk ). Some minor corner wear and creasing, but a rare card from the often forgotten army of Salonika. Royal Engineer survey companies usually produced maps, but it is good to see that they had other artistic talents.

The Macedonian front was brought to an end at noon on 30th September 1918 when the ceasefire came into effect.
