New Zealand 1st Battalion 5th (Wellington Rifles) Other Ranks Brass Cap and Collar Badge Set - Gaunt

All die struck with two original loops to the reverse, the cap badge a deep brass colour and collars a lighter more gilding metal colour in finish. The cap badge and one collar with JR Gaunt London tablets; the collars both matched and facing. All in very good condition with sharp detail. This regiment formed part of the 1914 Samoan Advance Force.

Die cast gilt brass cap badge (gilt now dulled and a couple of surface marks) with two original loops and maker marked Stokes & Sons Melbourne (Australia) (2.5cms in diameter) together with two matching grenade brass collar badges (with loops of typical Australasian manufacture) as worn by the NZ engineers.
