West African - Gold Coast Defence Force (Volunteers) Officers Gilt Collar Badge, c1927 - 1939
Die cast gilt collar badge with neatly cut red felt backing and two original loops to the reverse. Circa 3cms tall. Minor service wear to gilt and one tear in the backing cloth around a lug otherwise in good condition and scarce. Possibly also worn in this size on the side cap.

Circa 13.5mm in diameter, fixed shank and maker marked Firmin & Co Ltd. A silver plated device mounted on gilt button. This pattern worn from 1898. With QVC crown it would have been only until 1902. Scarce. In very good condition.
