A semi-flat button which bears the initials CIV for the City Imperial Volunteers, and the date 1900, fixed shank in good condition and maker marked Pitt & Co, 31 Maddox Street, London, W. Circa 24mm in diameter. Scarce.

A good introductory volume to British Army cloth collecting from formation signs, shoulder titles to proficiency badges. Profusely illustrated in black and white.
