A good worn example with scroll "South Africa 1900 - 02" below, two original loops and three sweat/ braising/ expansion holes to the reverse. Blank seeded tablet below the sphinx. The white metal overlays appear to have been silver plated. Most probably an officer's cap badge. A cracker!

Scarce Memorial Postcard for loss of HM Submarine L24 - includes roll of honour
A tragic reminder of the perils of being at sea, L24 was lost with all hands off Portland Bill following a collision with HMS Resolution on 10th January 1924, also depicted. Postally unused and in good condition.

Postally used with George V stamp with Scarborough cancellation dated 12 Sept 1914. Shows troops of the Dominions of Australia and Canada and Colonial troops of India answering the call of the British metropole. Good colourful image, card in very good condition, with a few minor marks. Message in pencil on the reverse. read more

The Border Regiment (34th & 55th Foot) - QVC Victorian Smaller Pattern Other Ranks White Metal Cap Badge
Die struck, with retaining original brass strips holding original red felt backing to centre but with what look like two replacement long copper loops. Nicely done, but I do not consider these to be the original loops, otherwise a verv fine looking badge. Circa 4.2cm tall. Also worn with a king's crown post 1902.

Corps of Military Accountants (GV) Brass Cap Badge
Corps of Military Accountants (GV) Brass Cap Badge George V cypher in a voided oval with original slider (twisted out of shape towards the top). Sharp detail and otherwise in good condition.
Formed in 1919 and disbanded in 1927, with remaining personnel transferring to the Royal Army Pay Corps RAPC). Their role was to sort out the various finances of the Great War.
