This is a very high quality inlaid wooden vesta or match safe, to the front it has ‘P.O.W. Shrewsbury camp’ and to the back a lovely inlaid star shape. WW2 Era Royal Engineers Metal & Celluloid Matchbox Cover
A nice quality piece made from a metal core with a coloured celluloid covering with the badge for the Royal Engineers front and back with King George VI cypher to the middle, the spine marked Royal Engineers. Measuring just under 2.5 inches long it comes in very good condition with some mild marking to the surface. Empty matchbox which it contains is for display only.

As worn from 1893 - 1902, QVC crown, normally found blackened but this one in its original un-blackened state with a QVC crown that has been neatly re-attached. three original loops to the reverse and correct red felt backing. Condition reflected in price.

A matching pair with two original loops to the reverse. A very nice pair in good condition. Worn pre-1897, but also formed part of shoulder titles post that date for Volunteer Battalions to 1908 and 'walking-out' shoulder titles for Territorial Battalions.
