Smaller pattern was usually worn on service dress and worn 1905 to 1921. Engraved brass with two original lugs to the reverse. Circa 4.3cm tall. Bottom bar indicates either Corporal of Horse or above for the Household Cavalry, or Sergeant Scout / Regimental Scouts for the Cavalry of the Line. Very good condition and scarce. Newcastle and Durham Engineer Volunteers White Metal Helmet Plate, 1880 - 1887 only
A large white metal helmet plate with three original dark toned loops to the reverse (one slightly bent over). In excellent condition with sharp detail. In 1888 they were split into three different units: the 1st Durham Engineer Volunteers at Jarrow, the Tyne Division RE (V), Submarine Miners HQ at North Shields, and at new 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne RE (V) HQ Newcastle. Circa 9.2cm tall.

Bullion Mess Dress Officers Rank Pips, set of three
A set of three, small pattern, circa 1 cm square. Lightly stuck to a piece of tape, but easy to remove. Good condition and scarce. Worn by an officer in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (RRF) but probably suitable for many other regiments. Unfortunately this is all that I have.

WW2 3rd Regiment RHA Royal Horse Artillery Theatre Made Cap Badge
A finely cast side cap badge with two original lugs to reverse. GVI cypher. Circa 3.4cm tall. Officially this badge was not sanctioned with a GVI cypher until 1948 for wear on the foreign service helmet. Apparently worn by the 3rd Regiment RHA in the Middle East in WW2 - thanks to Alain for confirming.

In great condition, a die struck bi-metal cap badge with original slider to the reverse, maker marked (correct pattern in 3 lines) Gladman & Norman / Spencer Street / Birmingham 18. Scarce maker. This pattern worn from 1918 to 1957, when a Queen's crown pattern appeared.

Pre WW1 Original Photographic Black & White Postcard - Royal Engineers
An interesting photographic record showing two very smart regular NCOs of the Royal Engineers in review and service dress respectively. The RE on the shoulder is a cloth version as worn from 1902 (see BoBD Fig 2A and page 2). These were worn red on blue and replaced by metal versions from about 1907.
