An early nearly shaped (for the high neck tunic collar?) and die struck pattern with two original dark toned loops to the reverse. In very good condition with sharp detail. Worn by the Manchester Regiment from 1897 to 1914. Churchill claims this was, despite being a female sphinx, also worn by the South Wales Borderers for a period of time.

A War Seal Disable Service 1914-15 ½d cinderella stamp from the First World War. Usage indicated a halfpenny donation to the War Seal Foundation, founded by Sir Oswald Stoll in 1915 to aid disabled servicemen by building them homes where they could be cared for and be integrated back into society. An early pattern collar badge with two large braising / sweat / expansion holes behind the eagle, original loops appear to have been removed and replaced with a single central fixing loop and the white metal coronet attached to top of grenade. This pattern sealed in 1926. In very good condition.
