An early pattern collar badge with two large braising / sweat / expansion holes behind the eagle, original loops appear to have been removed and replaced with a single central fixing loop and the white metal coronet attached to top of grenade. This pattern sealed in 1926. In very good condition.

Die struck with two original loops to reverse (n-s). As Churchill No1260 but this is unvoided in the centre. he notes that in 1911 dress regulations is states centre pierced. So this could be earlier than that, or an 'economy' WW1 officer issue. Stag faces in right.
