1st Battalion The Manchester Regiment Large Cast Brass Musicians Bandsmans Music Case Pouch Badge, circa 1881
A large sold cast brass musicians badge with a gilt finish to front. The fleur-de-lys is quite decorative if a little but roughly cast with two large integral tombstone style fixings to the reverse. A gilt brass and enamel sweetheart in very good condition with original and functional pin fitting, the '75' applied a bit crudely by hand. An enterprising generic sweetheart, personalised by a jeweller for the recipient by battalion. Unusual. No damage to enamel, gilt bright.
