Boer War Era Mafeking / Lord Baden-Powell Wire Brooch
This excellent Boer War era brooch has been hand fashioned from a gilded wire into the name ‘Mafeking’ and a small photo of Lord Baden-Powell fitted into a glass fronted pendant suspended below, the quality of the piece is excellent as is the condition, it measures just under 1.75 long and is just over 1.25 deep. Will come boxed. Superb.

Removed from uniform and still attached to a patch of battledress cloth, a nicely embroidered example of the red leaping gazelle on a white circle in a red diamond with a narrow white border. Facing left. In very good condition. According to Oliver Lock also worn by those Italians who had opted to fight on the allies side as F Recce Squadron.

A quality white metal die struck badge with two original toned loops to the reverse. Some brown staining to front which will clean off with a short soak in some lemon juice otherwise in very good condition.
