A scarce Royal Air Force badge worn to identify civilians undertaking official work on RAF stations etc. Oval, manufactured by J.R. Gaunt of London in gilt metal with a button hole rear fixing. A scarce and attractive enamel badge, with original pin fitting and maker marked JR Gaunt London to the reverse. A slight loss of enamel to the left side above the word corps, minor crazing and some light scratches to the surface of the enamel, but overall a pleasing example.

Initially fought in Tunisia as part of 1st Army, through Italy as part of the 8th Army and also with 15th Army Group. At the war end was renumbered 1st Armoured Division.
