An original gilt and enamel badge, King George VI Crowned circlet 'Civil Defence Corps' on blue enamel ground, enclosing the 'Royal Lion of England' central device, the reverse with maker's details "Fattorini & Sons Ltd Barr St B'Ham." Above: a printed example of the yellow / blue maltese cross outlined in red on a black square. As worn by 50 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment Royal Artillery and also Malta Heavy Anti-Aircraft Defences. Scarce.

Below: a printed black on khaki "Malta ". In ragged condition having been cut from khaki drill. Rare. Not listed in Renfrew Vol 1 or 2.

WW1 Officers Map Lens (11) France - Attributed to Captain W G Clark RFA

No 11 in the series of twelve large scale foldable maps covering France and Belgium, this one covering the Lens area which included Arras, Bapaume and of course Lens. Map itself is clean and intact, the linen covers are grubby from service use and foxed with age. It is not a trench map as it does not have trenches marked on it.

Bought on the understanding it was worn by 59th Battery Royal Artillery (RA) as a pagri badge worn on a blue / red cloth diamond behind it on the pugarree. However I cannot substantiate this, so any information welcome.

As worn from 1947 by the Royal Artillery version of the Regiment with the Hampshire scroll discarded and all in white metal. A fine badge in very good condition and original slider stamped correctly with the manufacturer's details, Firmin London.
