Removed from uniform, small black square with badge of the North Staffs printed / painted onto it. An original and rare item. a short-lived unit, raised in January 1942 until disbanded in July 1943. Manufactured by Display Patents. Circa 4cms x 4.5cms. First one I have ever handled.

Authorised for wear in May 1949 by those regiments in the Brigade who lined the Thames Estuary and commanded the coasts from Sussex to Norfolk, the design symbolising the brigade's defence of the 'gateway' to Great Britain. In good unissued condition.
