A star of eight points, the topmost point displaced by a Victorian crown. On this a laurel wreath. Within the wreath a strap inscribed the garter motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense. A genuine example with lugs removed (they were north - south) and expertly attached permanently to a brass menu ring stand which has an upright ring for holding the menu card / place setting name card.
