This is a very high quality inlaid wooden vesta or match safe, to the front it has ‘P.O.W. Shrewsbury camp’ and to the back a lovely inlaid star shape. Worn circa 1946 - 1959 by the regiments of the Light Infantry Brigade, which included the Durham Light Infantry ( DLI ), King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry ( KOYLI ), King's Shropshire L.I., and the Somerset & Cornwall Light Infantry. 54th Shropshire Militia Large Pattern Other Ranks Open Back Button - Firmin

Circa 21mm in diameter, original fixed shank, maker marked Firmin & Sons London. A pewter other ranks button in superb condition for age. Worn circa 1833 - 1855.

The War Office issued a Circular Letter (H.O.51/33) dated Whitehall 30th April 1833, which fixed the Militia Battalion Order of Precedence giving the Shropshire Battalion the No 54. This order held good until 1855.<...  read more

53rd Welsh Division (TA) Felt Cloth Formation Sign Flash Patch Badge

A large red felt "W" on a horizontal base sewn to a khaki battledress rectangle. Circa 7cms tall and 10cms wide. Small stain on red felt otherwise in good condition and has some age to it.
