Circa 19mm in diameter, closed backed ball button with fixed shank. Marked Treble Gilt to reverse. Gilt to front now mainly worn back to the base metal but in very good and attractive condition. The letters M & S YC below a Georgian crown. Worn circa 1798 - 1830. Scarce. Final image for information only.

Georgian Napoleonic Royal Regiment of Artillery Officer's Tunic Coatee Button

This button displays the Ordnance arms. Circa 23.5mm in diameter, it is flat and retains its original fixed shank. Gilt finish and detail is very worn, possibly excavated, but in good condition despite this. This was the second pattern button worn circa 1790 until 1802. Other ranks wore the same design as officer's but in pewter. Scarce.

George III / Napoleonic Saint Andrew and St George The Martyr (London) Military Association Volunteer Corps Officer's Gilt Coatee Button

Circa 24mm in diameter, domed open backed gilt button with original shank and maker marked 'I. Fontain, Middle Row, Holborn' (London). Minor service wear but in very good condition and rare.

The Corps is featured in Rowlandson's wonderful work as plate No 28, the accompanying notes confirm the buttons bore the initials of the corps (albeit in silver) whereas this one is gilt. Fi...  read more
