Pair of Mufti Blazer Buttons to the Northamptonshire Regiment (48th Foot)
A pair of gilt mufti blazer buttons, one 20.5mm and the other 14mm to the Northamptonshire Regiment, the number 48 in Roman numerals to centre of crowned garter, king's crown above and the battle honour Talavera on the garter. Larger one maker marked Pitt & Co, Maddox St, London. Some tarnishing otherwise reasonable condition.

A very scarce gilt button, two piece construction, fixed shank, back marked Jennens & Co, London. A small demi-ball button at circa 13mm in diameter. Gilt bright, in extremely good condition. The cypher on most of these buttons were extremely hard to read, but this one is simple with the letters KOR entwined below a Victorian crown.

Circa 19mm in diameter, fixed shank and backmarked Jennens & Co London. Gilt finish is back to brass, but an attractive button in good condition, with only slight polishing to crown. Worn circa 1881 - 1902.

Pair of WW1 era Veterinary Corps Officers Buttons, Large and Medium Brass Pattern
Circa 25mm and 19mm respectively, fixed shanks and each maker marked Armfield Ltd, Birmingham. Semi-domed, GV cypher, in very good condition with sharp detail. Only worn from 1911 to 1918. In 1918 they acquired the prefix Royal and the button pattern changed to a centaur. Scarce.

Circa 25mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker marked Hebbert & Co, 8 Pall Mall East. In very good condition.
Hebbert & Co were military outfitters from the mid 19th century. 'Hebbert & Co' backmark on military buttons dates from the 1850s onwards. They became a limited company in 1895. Not to be confused with Herbert & Co which was separate company.
