Stunning Gold Coast Volunteers Officer 's Gold plated cap / Side Cap badge
Gold plated (unmarked) with original pin fitting (fully functional) and with owners initials nearly impressed on the reverse "N.J." Worn only 1902 - 1927. Somebody has scratched the reverse (to see if it is solid gold!, which it is not). I have seen this worn on the peaked cap also. Small but heavy and beautifully made - a jewellers made badge rather than mass produced. Circa 3cm tall.
