A vertically worn, 2 part collar badge in silver plate and gilt, in good worn condition with some polishing from service wear and with two original loops to the reverse. Loops seem quite long so possibly also as worn on the forage cap.

Original slider to reverse (some twisting and light scratches). Has been lacquered but in good worn condition. It is a mystery as to why this should have be such a hard badge to find, the assumption being that earlier non Royal title cap badges were to be used up first.

WW1 Scarce 1914 1st Pattern Tyneside Scottish Other Ranks Glengarry Cap Badge

The design for this badge was not fixed until late November 1914 by the Tyneside Scottish Committee, and was replaced by the more imposing 2nd pattern badge in January 1915. Die struck cap badge in good overall condition but with some rippling to badge. Original slider to reverse. This pattern worn from onwards about 1910 onwards with a a slider. Within the Regiment is was referred to as the "Eiffel Tower" badge.
